Variability of the Spectral Response due to the Phenological Changes of the Sierra de Arteaga Vegetation.

Hori-Ochoa, M. C., Lozano-García, D. F., Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León

Sierra de Arteaga in Northern México, represents an important biological area at the regional level due to it is great diversity in species and endemism. The plant communities found in this place show phenological changes that can be observed in the remotely sensed images, that results in the individual and multitemporal images classifications. The multitemporal analysis allowed the incorporation of the phenological changes in to the classification process. Phenological plant change related to the NDVI presented a strong relation with the canopy cover, therefore NDVI shows the seasonal behaviour of the different plant communities. Another parameter used as phenological change index was the radiance value of the plant communities, that varies deppending on the time of the year as well as the floristic composition of each community.
