The National Fern Botanical Garden (NFBG) is dedicated to the collection and conservation of pteridophytes with unsurpassed collections of West Indian species, Cuban endemics, and Cyatheoid tree ferns. The staff has extensive experience in sporophyte transplantation and spore germination under semi-natural conditions. Educational programs encompass every level from grade school to doctoral studies. Current scientific collaborations include germination studies, mechanisms of hybrid dimorphism, systematics of Cyatheaceae, and Selaginellaceae. In addition, its proximity to pristine cloud forest habitat makes the NFBG a unique and valuable resource for both Cuban and International pteridologists
