The National Biological Control Institute (NBCI) was founded in 1990 by the United States Department of Agriculture. NBCI advocates for the use of natural enemies to control weeds, insect pests, and pathogens affecting agriculture and the environment. NBCI conducts programs supporting biological control, including:1. Cooperative Agreements/Grants for Flexibility and Partnerships.2. Membership in USDA's Biological Control Coordinating Council.3. Regulatory Facilitation for Safe/Effective Biological Control.4. International Biological Control to Safeguard Against Harmful Alien Invasive Species.5. Education/Information to Communicate the Uses and Benefits of Biological Control.6. The Interagency Center for Biological Control at Florida A&M University.
