XVI International Botanical Congess

The existing systematic information of the Leguminosae in the Malesian area is made available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM contains information on Mimosoideae and Caesalpinioideae, with several keys, maps and many illustrations. A second CD-ROM on the Papilionoideae will appear later. Information is presented via the user-friendly Linnaeus II program developed by the ETI Biodiversity Centre, Amsterdam.The CD-ROM contains morphological descriptions of all taxa with illustrations, synonymy and references. Identification is possible via illustrated text keys and a multi-entry key. Geographical data is available on interactive grid-based distribution maps, with options such as comparison of distributions, geographical search and display of species diversity. An illustrated glossary and literature references with links to taxa are also included.
