MANAGEMENT OF WEEDS (ARVENSES) IN THE AGRICULTURE OF NORTH OF PUEBLA, MEXICO

The Sierra of North Puebla State ia a geographical region with high biological and cultural diversity, where the agricultural traditional practice integrated the useful of some weeds which have use as food, medicine, forage and soil coberture. The management od this plants include collected wild species, toleration and encouragement of another species, including seed selection and sowing, with mechanical total or partial elimination of this plants, according with farmer view point, in diverses stages of crop grown.In this paper are reported the species of weeds on milpas (maize fields), chilares (field where chili pepper is grown) and coffee plantations and their uses. The role of this plants in farmer economy is analyzed.
