Biological aspects of introduction of the collection of Codiaeum variegatum (L.) Blume cultivars are being studied at theDonetsk Botanical gardens.Under the condition of a glasshouse incultivars of C.variegatum linear growth,partial and complete arborescence of shoots which reach their maximum in spring-summer are observed. The cultivars notable for even growth were singled out:`Delicatissimum`,`Duke of Windsor`,`Punctatum aureum`,`Spirale`-0,56-2,33 cm per month.The time of intensive growth in cultivars `Aucubifolium`-July-September,`Mortimer`-June-July, `Sanderi`,`Sol.Reidii`-May-July, when the length increment in one shoot was 2,1-4,31 cm per month. A further study will enable to reveal plants with the biggest plasticity to conditions of a glasshouse and to use them for industrial phytodesign.
