XVI International Botanical Congess

The introduction of lianas in Donbass started in 1966 when the Donetsk Botanical garden was established. According to the results of introduction 2178 specimens have been involved into the experiment for 30 years. The collection of lianas contains 140 species, varieties, forms and cultivars from 36 genera and 22 families. The most significant are the families of Ranunculaceae Juss.(38 specimens),Vitaceae Juss.(37 samples), Caprifoliaceae Juss.(12 samples). The assortment of plants for ornamental horticulture was chosen,there were developed a spectrum of the ornamental effect which enables to solve the problem of vertical plantings in each concrete case and also the most expedient creation technique of the display Lianas garden, based on the module structure. This principle meets the reguirements of modern aesthetic views and agrotechnics of plants maintenance.
