The phylogeny of the genus Haematomma (s. lat., sensu Zahlbruckner 1926) is investigated using parsimony analysis with morphological, chemical, and ecological characters. The phylogenetic tree reveals that ascus structure and thamnolic acid of Haematomma fuliginosum are important characters. It also supports the genus Ophioparma that was established from Haematomma (s. lat.) by Rogers & Hafellner (1988).
