XVI International Botanical Congess

Flora of Ukraine numbers more than 25000 plant species, 541 species are included in The Red Data Book of Ukraine.Vegetable Kingdom. Species list of the Ukrainian vascular plant flora included in the European Red List of Threatened Animals and Plants. Under increasing pressure of antropogenic factors take place decrease of natural plant association areas, genetic variability and upset natural biology balance. During the last years Ukrainian botanical gardens are getting the centers for preservaing of floristic variety. Research has focused mainly on creation and develop the collections of the rare and disappearance plants kinds. A new approach into the development of programs for conservation and sustainable species diversity is the use of modern plant biotechnology. In report will present some results obtained on the scientific work.
