ARTEMISIA L. IN THE FLORA OF UKRAINE

Savchenko Anna, Donetsk Bot.gardens, Illich's Avenue, 110, 340059, Donetsk, Ukraine

The species of the genus Artemisia, grown in Ukraine, have been studied by us since 1995. The revealed numerous synonymy (about 700 names) testifies to complicacy of their taxonomic study. Several critical groups are defined, each of which is united by a complex of insufficiently differentiative crossing characters: A.abrotanum L.-A.elatior Klok.-A.procera Willd., A.caucasica Willd.-A.argentata Klok.,A.austriaca Jacq. -A.repens Willd.,A.campestris L.-A.marschalliana Spreng. -A.dniproica Klok.-A.arenaria DC.-A.tschernieviana Bess.-A.trautvetteriana Bess.,A.santonica L. -A.boschniakiana (Bess.)DC.-A.praticola Klok.-A.monogyna Waldst. et Kit.-A.lerchiana Stechm. And each of the species mentioned above may occur as cited for the territory of Ukraine. As a result of critical study of literary data and herbarium materials we have found out that 34 species of Artemisia grow in Ukraine.
