XVI International Botanical Congess
The water is the most important factor of yield of cotton. It had been studied inheritance and variability of economically valuable indices and showed of heterosis by hybrids F1 native and introduced sorts of cotton. At the water-deficit conditions were picked reciprocal hybrides out, having high reproductive heterosis and the series hybrids with adaptive heterosis. In unpropitious conditions varied very much the amount of bolls and productivity. There were revealed forms, combining high yield with stability to water-deficit of soil. In spite of the dependence quantitative indices from climatic and agrotechnical conditions, in rising adaptive capacity and economically valuable have the decisive role purposeful selection.
