The tribe Bignonieae is characterized by the presence of setifrage capsules and a scandent habit. Bignonieae contains around 50 genera and 349 species, most of which have a neotropical distribution. The aim of the present work was identify the species of the tribe Bignonieae in the PERD area, provide thorough descriptions, illustrations, keys to genera and species, and comments concerning the phenology, habit, and geographical distribution of species. Collections and field observations were conducted from August/95 to February/97. In PERD a total of 36 species belonging to 19 genera were identified. Arrabidaea and Adenocalymna were the genera that contained the highest number of species (eight and six, respectively). CAPES-FAPEMIG
