The Celastraceae family in the basin river Balsas, Mexico.

In Mexico the projects about of the Celastraceae are scarse, reason by the wich was accomplished the taxonomic review of this family for the basin, atrough the bibliographical review and the ejemplaries study proceeding of the region deposited in the herbaria CHAPA, ENCB, FCME, INIF and MEXU, were recognized 9 genera and 18 species for the basin, resulting 3 genera and 10 species new records, the represented better genera were Wimmeria with 5 species and Maytenus with 3 species. In the taxonomic treatment were accomplished the descriptions of the family, as well as of the genera and the species, also were elaborated key for the separation of the taxa and were located geographycally the collections of each one of the species.
