Description
"A small tree 3-5 m. tall, with a gnarled trunk. Foliage dense, dimorphic. Leaves flattened, slightly falcate, distichous, linear, 10-19 mm. long by 2-3.2 mm. wide, leaf margins nearly parallel, glaucous, with prominent stomata below in 10-12 lines, midrib weakly marked, apex obliquely acute. Leaves on fertile branchlets scale-like, flattened, long-triangular, 1.5-2.5 mm. long, keeled, broadly decurrent. Male strobili terminal, 5 mm. long by 2 mm. wide; microsporophylls triangular, acute. Female cone on a branchlet with a scaly peduncle to 5 mm. long, cone with 2 bracts; ovule inverted, solitary, covered by a broad epimatium; purplish-green. Seed nearly erect, rounded and elongated into a conical point, covered by a nearly blackish receptacle at maturity" (1).Range
