Syn: Pinus kaempferi Lamb.; Larix japonica hort. ex Endl.; L. leptolepis (Sieb. & Zucc.) Gord.; L. leptolepis var. louchanensis Y. de Ferré & M.T. Augère; L. kaempferi var. rubescens Inokuma (1).

Remarks

Planted in Taiwan. Records include Nantou Xian: Hsinyi Hsiang: from mt.- hiking entrance to summit of Chuntashan. Yushania stand with scattered conifers. Elevation: 3000-3200 m. 120°56'11"E, 23°35'44"N. Scattered on mountain ridges, in Yushania stand. Cultivated trees up to 5m tall (2).
