Syn: Frenela roei Endlicher; F. subcordata Parlatore (1).

Description

"A shrub or small tree with stout, erect branches and flexuose, spreading branchlets. LEAVES 1/8 - 1/5 in. long, the dorsal surface acutely keeled. CONES globose, 1/2 - 3/4 in. in diameter, on short, stout stalks; scales 6, very thick, the smaller ones triangular and pointed, the larger ones blunt, smooth, prominently angled when closed; each with a large, conical dorsal point near the apex" (1).

Limited to a few localities in Western Australia (1).
