Pellicle of Euglena gracilis


The pellicle consists of the folded outer membrane, its underlying microtubuli (shown in cross-section as rings) and a number of that far not characterized filament systems. Below these transversal filaments is tubular endoplasmatic reticulum in contact with the microtubuli (H. QUADER, 1983, unpublished).
