XVIII. Terminology

1. Chlorophyllide (Chlide): Chlorophyll (Chl) without a long chain fatty alcohol, such as phytol, at position 7 of the macrocycle. Position 7 is occupied by a free propionic acid residue.
2. Pheophytin: Chl without the central Mg atom.
3. Pheophorbide: Chlide without the central Mg atom.
